Jersey City Public Information Center Announced
June
2024
Join the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for an in-person Public Information Center (PIC) for the first project of the Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension Improvements Program. The PIC will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center, 140 Martin Luther King Dr., Jersey City, NJ. There will be a presentation at 7:00 p.m. Walk-ins are permitted, however, pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Limited public parking is available in the Center lot.
PICs are different from official public hearings, which include a formal public comment portion. Instead, they provide an open house format to encourage greater engagement, dialogue, and interactivity. They include a brief presentation and opportunities for community residents to directly ask questions, comment, and speak one-on-one with Turnpike Authority officials and members of the Program team.
The Public Information Center will follow the format of an open house and include a presentation and opportunities for residents to ask questions and speak one-on-one with Turnpike Authority officials and members of the Program team. There will be information stations around the room so residents can learn more about the first project, the reconstruction between Interchanges 14 and 14A, and its benefits and opportunities.
